Last Stop Until Milestoneville is the third book in the Milestoneville Book Series by Golden November. Have you ever wondered how each of the Milestoneville characters met? This book answers that question for you. Best described as a prequel to the Milestoneville series, Golden November shares how our favorite characters became who they are. We get to see how JBT and G met and started their now-iconic rare book-hunting business. We also witness Bridget audition for Click Clack’s Channel 1994. We also meet Flower Rose as she comes to terms with her mother’s new boyfriend, while we also get up close with Jillian as she finishes one undercover assignment after the other without letting anyone know.

After reading about a dozen Golden November novels, I have concluded that the author writes the most powerful female characters. I could tell each character was crafted carefully there is something about the female characters that just makes them stand out. Each of them portrayed a powerful side of female strength. Flower Rose was more emotional than the bunch Bridget was thirsty for success, whereas Jillian was striving for perfection (and nailing it) without letting the world know how brilliant she was. As always, the fast pace and the expressive dialogues were the highlights of the story. I loved to know G, and JBT synched from the first moment they met. The twists in the story were intense and fun. Try as I might, I was never able to guess what would happen next. Golden November truly is a master of the craft.

Standing by the Wall at the Near and Far by Golden November is an interactive reading experience that requires the participation of two or more readers to breathe life into this action-packed novel. On the run for reasons initially unexplained, Sapphire is on the road when she gets a call from Simon, who keeps calling her Lisa and is following her in a helicopter while demanding that she pulls over. She does, but not for Simon, and ends up lost in the woods where it is revealed that Simon has reason to follow her. Sapphire has a file that Simon wants her to return. A chase ensues that has Sapphire walking for miles, fighting off creatures both in the wild and in her cheap motel room which has, as reception clarifies, bedbugs but no roaches. She is successful and put on another mission, and then...a date?

Meanwhile, the usual Milestoneville characters are skydiving, dancing at music awards, and stealing back rare books in front of rural outhouses. Standing by the Wall at the Near and Far is a hilarious romp through every conceivable landscape and tundra in North America. Sapphire is always a step ahead of Simon and Jillian has intercepted Burt in a forest. The common denominator in Golden November's string of subplots is clear - women are amazing. There is a part where the irony of readers reading the lines of characters playing other characters becomes clear. The crew is deployed to rescue happy holidaymakers from a virtual city where the vacationers and their rescuers are all playing other characters. The best part is that they are depicted in a unique twist by the author, who has only ever shown us locations in the photo prompts and not actual characters. I fell a little in love with Rick who looks disturbingly similar to The Witcher. This might be the most action-packed book of November's yet and it is loads of fun for readers who are looking for a story and format that is different.

Flower Rose by Golden November tells the tale of its titular character, a book broker with an unknown origin story of how she became one in the series that takes place in Milestoneville. November writes books, not for independent reading but instead for groups of like-minded readers to act out. This can mean different things to different people but, for me and my family, it means picking out characters to “play” and cracking on with them. Unlike a traditional book, November's text is 100% speaking roles with stock photography to show actors where they are in that scene. Flower Rose features as a university student and her evolution into adulthood happens rapidly alongside other familiar characters. There is no shortage of November's trademark humor and scenarios that are so ludicrous they can only be snort-laughed at in Flower Rose as Milestoneville click-clacks away to its own beat. My teenage daughter played the role of Flower Rose's college frenemies and I have to say it was her best performance yet! The book on the whole is interesting because Golden November, or at least as far as I've read of their work, usually dives right into the action. We know the characters because of what they tell us and over time they feel like real people, but unlike real people, we cannot ask how the heck they came to be in the professions they are in. Sure, new cast members join the regulars in their own little spin-offs and we see vineyards and tour company-owning characters, but as a rare book dealer, Flower Rose has always been a little mysterious. The book isn't just about Flower Rose and it does switch to other scenarios. The comedy is deadpan and hilarious and the crisp, full-color pictures are on point. Very highly recommended.

This particular book shares the life of the sassiest yet simple character and how she became the stoic Flower Rose of the Milestoneville Series we know and love. I love Flower Rose. She is very straightforward, yet there is an aura of intelligence around her. As always, the pictures set the tone for the chapter and make it easier for readers to visualize the setting without reading long descriptive paragraphs. Golden November allows readers to use their imagination and make it much easier for them to feel like a part of the story. This in-depth look into Flower Rose’s character is fantastic. We get to see how she became such a strong, assertive, and passionate woman. As expected, this fantastic story provided a complete reading experience!

It is amazing who you can meet on an airplane and what the result of such an encounter might be. Such is the case in Adventures of the Moment: The Writer's Collector's Edition by Golden November, where a man named Gannon serendipitously meets Electra, a woman he begins to chat with and is ultimately seated next to him on the flight. It's Gannon's birthday and is also day zero of Gannon and his girlfriend breaking up. Electra is from a family of winemakers and, after bonding with Gannon, invites him to join her at the family estate. What follows next, when Electra takes over Gannon's former girlfriend's ticket for a mystery adventure, is the kind of thing you tell future grandkids. But first, you've got to survive the darn thing, and buying it still doesn't guarantee that it will happen.

Golden November is a unique writer with an entirely distinctive book format. Adventures of the Moment is written as a script where readers read the scenes out loud. The more readers, the merrier, and we have a custom now of inviting friends over for dinner and then verbally acting out November's latest and greatest. Or at least what is new to us. The deadpan comedy is the best part. November has a caustic sense of humor that reminds me of Aubrey Plaza in Parks and Recreation. Instead of superfluous written descriptions of every scene, November includes a full-color photo of where the characters are. This orientates the minds of readers and allows for the reading to continue uninterrupted, except for intermittent bursts of laughter. Very highly recommended.

It is intended for the general reading audience and was penned by author Golden November in the usual style for the author, with the plot unfolding in dialogue-only format and the script accompanied by images that set the scene. In this collection, we find ourselves alongside intrepid book hunters G and JBT, who are called upon by store owner Flower Rose when she meets a mysterious figure. Heading into the Milestoneville Mountains with expert Jillian at their side, this wisecracking duo will have to be prepared for literally anything fate has in store.

A treasure-hunting story with a kick of small-town drama, Golden November is sure to keep the Milestoneville fans happy with another easy-to-read installment of humor, hijinks, and high-octane thrills. There’s always a lot of reading between the lines with November’s writing, and in this edition that is used to install some wonderful surprise moments into the plot where you cannot predict what’s going to happen next, until one of the heroes is suddenly in dire straights. I liked Jillian very much her lines were witty and she was exactly what the plot needed to elevate us out of what we already know about the recurring characters and add something exciting to the mix. Overall, I would always recommend any work in this series to those who enjoy Golden November’s unique style. Life of The Impersonators is a great place to start if you’re curious about Milestoneville and its many interesting inhabitants.

In Life of the Impersonators: The Beach, author Golden November has adopted a very unusual way of writing this story which takes place in the current era. The main characters are G, JBT (Jimbo), Lisa, Smith, Date, Harry, Miles Senior, Click Clack, Asterisk, Bridget, Miles Senior's new wife, and then there are the characters that are standing in Miles Senior’s way of achieving his ultimate goal - Jolanderline, Charles Junior, Delores, Cliff, Flower Rose, Michelle, and Thorpe Miles Senior’s son who he had with his childhood sweetheart Lucille.

When you first start reading, it seems that you are eavesdropping on a private conversation between the main characters and those around them or those they have to meet to sort out other people's problems. Golden November shows how eavesdropping can be dangerous when the whole story is not known. It causes a bit of confusion at first but then you find yourself reading further to find out what is going on and why the main two characters, G and JBT (Jimbo), do what they do and have these most amazing conversations with Click Clack a lot of the time. Golden November has written a humorous, slightly confusing, and interesting book. It holds your attention from the time you read the first page to the time you read the last page. It is light-hearted, a good laugh, and it shows that people will do anything to get their way, especially when they are bored. A good, relaxing read. Life of the Impersonators: The Beach is well written.

Life of The Impersonators: Conversations is the second book in the Life of The Impersonators Collector's Series by Golden November. The adventures of G and JBT continue as they decide to say adieu to their business as book hunters and start a new journey. Deciding to join Channel 1994 in beloved Milestoneville, the iconic duo decide to act in a show called Book Hunters, based on their real adventures. While G and JBT look forward to acting, Bridget isn’t very happy with the idea and wants them to stop. To make matters worse, she believes G is only doing so to replace Asterick as the President of the channel. And that is not the only hurdle in the way of the show the duo is hoping to produce. Before they know it, things become even more complicated with the show, and they have to figure out a way to make Book Hunters successful.

The perfect Golden November novel that brings a fantastic slice from the lives of G and JBT. I adore the banter and light hazing between JBT and G they are just as fantastic as they were in the last novel I read. In true November fashion, we have a whole team of new characters, and each of them is colorful enough to keep your attention focused on the witty story. Bridget is a hard hitter she doesn’t beat around the bush and gets the job done. I love how JBT and G had their work cut out for them, and they really had to work hard to make Book Hunters a success. As always, the dialogues are crisp, the narrative is fast, the humor is dry (but hilarious), and all the characters are memorable!

The work can be enjoyed as a standalone story in its own right, and it sees us back with G and JBT as some new developments in their lives lead them to add yet another string to their bow of many talents.

It is always hard to describe these books and series to readers who have never encountered them before, but suffice to say Golden November always provides lively characters, plenty of unexpected twists in the plot, and a no-nonsense approach to storytelling that means anyone from any reading background can always enjoy the drama. In this particular installment, I felt the action really leaping on at a pace and we learned quite a lot more about JBT especially I thought, who has always been a big character in the series but got even more detailed and quite emotional in parts. Overall, I certainly enjoyed Life of The Impersonators: The Last Book as much as I have enjoyed previous books from November’s action-packed creative mind, and I certainly hope that it is not the ‘last’ book as the title implies!

Have you heard the one about the guy who fell asleep on the couch and woke up in the hospital, with friends suggesting he break out? It's one of Golden November's black comedy sketches in the book Varrius: No Plot. Spoiler alert: there are plots. If you enjoy clever dialogue and glossy stock photos to set a scene for a night playing pantomime, November does not disappoint. Varrius is the name of a character in the book who shows up in most of the scenes. These are loosely threaded together and start with a plan to kidnap a man, ending with a near-death escapade on the high seas. Getting from point A to point B is a basket of laughs, laced with an acerbic script to fuel the fun.

Dialogue is the highlight of Varrius by Golden November and the method of story delivery requires it since that is all there is in the written manuscript. As I said before, the dialogue is intelligent and witty. I am of the opinion that Golden November is well suited for screenplays that maybe use the photography of their books in lieu of stage setting. There is an ease in reading when people and places are not described in loquacious detail and, like stories of the past, instead rely on the imagination of a reader, with a tiny push of a picture. November and their books do not have a meaningful footprint in a reader's middle ground. It is either Team November with fans who love the art, or Team Grumpy-Sad Face for any who do not. It's not necessary for me to tell you where I fall.

We are right back with our favorite cast of characters as author Golden November ropes us in for a new adventure in Varrius: Enter Milestoneville. Let's get the format out of the way first, because it is the most loved aspect by November fans and perhaps the most confusing for new readers. November's books are not a sit down and read affair they are a 'grab your best friends and assign them characters to act out the novel' type of event. Varrius is an unknown who starts out with everything going quite well in his non-Milestoneville circle, only to have it come crashing down around him before he gets lost at sea. This is the 'Enter Milestoneville' part because that is exactly who rescues Varrius. From this point forward, Varrius becomes like the rest of us: addicted to the people and the town, and ready to make it his own.

It is so much fun to have the opportunity to read a new Golden November book. I waited for a weekend when a couple of friends could come to spend the afternoon acting out Varrius: Enter Milestoneville with me. The picture prompts are my favorite part and I love how some of them carry from one book to the next, giving a genuine sense of place and allowing a settled-in feel for us regulars. It's like going home. A relationship blossoms here and there is a mayoral race that will pit two beloved residents against one another, which may or may not have turned into a wrestling match on my own living room floor as the debates got started. What happens in Milestoneville stays in Milestoneville. Or something like that. November is as sharp as a tack and the deadpan comedy that forms the bulk of the dialogue is pure quality. Fun as always!
